Anne Waiguru, the governor of Kirinyaga, has revealed her role in safeguarding the interests of the Mt Kenya area ahead of the 2022 elections.
Waiguru stated why top politicians who have expressed interest in the presidency are warming up to her during a broadcast interview with a local TV station.
In response to a question on why ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi, ODM's Raila Odinga, and Wiper's Kalonzo Musyoka are rumored to be courting her, the governor stated she does not take their romance for granted.
“In the handshake, we have been together, and we were pushing for BBI together. These leaders have observed how Kenyans interact with me, as well as how I interact with them, they see me as a valuable asset," Waiguru affirmed.
The governor also praised her interactions with other leaders, claiming that they regard her as an Iron Lady capable of facing the challenges and responsibilities that come with holding political office.
“You must demonstrate that you are competent of handling the job because politics is not a beauty pageant. It id not about snapping pictures with strangers,” Waiguru explained.
