In Kenya, the issue of a running partner is gaining traction. Both Raila Odinga, the leader of the Orange Democratic Party, and William Ruto, the Deputy President, have yet to name their chosen second in command ahead of the August general election. Kalonzo Musyoka is Odinga's preferred running partner, according to KANU Party head Hounerable Gideon Moi.
Moi went on to remark that Kalonzo has demonstrated good talents that are important to the country and so deserves to be named the running mate. Currently, the Honourable Raila Odinga's Camp is using a panel to choose the best from those who are preferred or exhibit interest.
For a long time, Moi has been a close buddy of Kalonzo's. His endorsement of wiper leader is a good boost for Kalonzo and his team, who are certain that he must be selected the running mate or the entire Azimio La Umoja squad will quit. Let's watch how things play out in the next weeks and if Kalonzo will be appointed as Odinga's running partner or not.
