The elite GSU squad has been deployed to Deputy President William Ruto’s home in Sugoi, Uasin Gishu County, after he was declared President-elect by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission, IEBC Chairman Wafula Chebukati yesterday at the Bomas of Kenya.
Before the elite squad took over, William Ruto's Sugoi home was being guarded by officers from the Critical Installation Police Unit (CIPU) of the Administration Police.
However details emerging now reveal that the Administration Police officers have been replaced by dozen of red berets.
Reports further reveal that immediately they took over, the elite General Service Unit, GSU officers took charge of the residence, they started scanning every vehicle entering and exiting the home. This forced the locals who had thronged the site to celebrate William Samoei Arap Ruto’s win spent the night outside the gate.
