Reports Emerge of What Raila is Doing To Cut Off DP Ruto, Musalia's Influence in Western Region

Raila Odinga, the presidential candidate of the Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Coalition, has forged relationships with Western politicians in an attempt to consolidate votes in the region.

Mr Odinga aimed to reduce intra-coalition competition, which could result in Azimio candidates losing seats to their rivals.

The consensus wants Azimio to win a majority of seats in the region's Senate, National Assembly, Council of Governors (CoG), and county assemblies in the August 9 elections.

Musalia Mudavadi of the Amani National Congress (ANC) and Moses Wetang'ula of Ford Kenya, both members of DP William Ruto's Kenya Kwanza Alliance, come from the region.

Mr Odinga forged a deal between George Natembeya of the Democratic Action Party of Kenya (DAP-K) and ODM candidate Moses Khaoya in the race to succeed Governor Patrick Khaemba while on a campaign visit to Trans Nzoia yesterday.

Mr Khaoya stepped out as a supporter of the former Rift Valley regional commissioner, who will now square off against Chris Wamalwa of Ford Kenya.

Azimio will now have one candidate to boost their chances of winning the seat.

"Azimio is akin to a house with multiple spouses. Among them are ODM, Jubilee, DAP-K, Wiper, and Narc Kenya. George Natembeya, on the other hand, is our candidate. I asked Mr. Khaoya to resign so that he may join my presidential campaign team, "Mr Odinga added.
