Deputy President William Ruto encounters a huge blow as several Kenya Kwanza Alliance professionals make a U-turn and join Raila Odinga's Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Alliance. The defectors promised to campaign for Raila Odinga and heighten his presidential bid across the region.

Perhaps, the Kenya Kwanza Alliance and the Azimio la Umoja Coalition are the big political blocs aiming to form the next government ahead of the upcoming contest. Accordingly, the August contest has generated a robust political space among the political leaders endeavoring to safeguard their victory over the race.

The group from Elgeyo Marakwet in the Rift Valley region met at Eldoret as they make a big declaration. They insisted that they believe it is only former prime minister Raila Odinga who would help to transform this country and unravel the challenges facing the Rift Valley region, especially the banditry in the zone.

According to the report, over 700 professionals from Elgeyo Marakwet dumped the Deputy president and endorsed Azimio la Umoja Coalition leader Raila Odinga ahead of the August election. Consequently, this emerged as a big blow to the Deputy President and the Kenya Kwanza at large as allies change tunes in their backyard.

The leaders Present during the declaration were the Deputy Speaker of the senate Professor Margaret Kamar, CAS Linah Kilimo, and former Marakwet legislator Boaz Kaino among several others.

However, Professor Margaret Kamar said she is not running for any seat in the August contest but would consolidate Raila Odinga's presidential bid and Azimio la Umoja's agenda in the Rift Valley region.

"We want to be part of the next government and for sure it is now evident that the fifth President of the Republic of Kenya will be Raila Odinga," Kamar reiterated.

On the other hand, Boaz Kaino added that all Kenyans should know very well that it is Raila Odinga and Martha Karua who can fight corruption in the country but the Kenya Kwanza allies can not.
