Kenyan Head of State president Uhuru Kenyatta has for the first time chaired the powerful United Nations Security Council on Tuesday.

The Head of State was in the company of the United Nations Secretary General Mr Antonio Guteres at the United Nations Headquarters in New York city in the United States of America.

Today's forum was greatly based on peace building as well as sustainability of the same in the region amid the great diversities that different people have according to where they come from.

President Uhuru Kenyatta's chairing of the powerful organ comes at a time when the International Court of Justice delivered a ruling on the dispute between Kenya and Somalia.

The UN's top court has ruled largely in favour of Somalia in its long-running dispute with Kenya over their maritime border.

Kenya previously accused the International Court of Justice of bias and said it will not accept the ruling.The case concerned a 38,000 sq mile (100,000 sq km) triangle in the Indian Ocean that is thought to be rich in oil and gas.
