Thank you, my dear readers, and welcome to the daily political news.
Campaigns have intensified in our country as we approach the general elections. Those people who have expressed their willingness in competing for the different seats are campaigning vigorously as they try to convince Kenyans to choose them in the August 9 polls.
The presidential race is being followed keenly because President Uhuru Kenyatta will be exiting office living the race to be more competitive between the former Prime Minister Raila Odinga and Deputy President William Ruto.
Raila named his running mate(Martha Karua) two days ago. Karua who is from Mt Kenya a region perceived to be having the highest number of voters today in a company of several political leaders including Agriculture Cabinet Secretary Peter Munya, Muranga County Woman Representative Sabina Chege, and many others toured Meru County in style. They were received warmly by a huge crowd that cheered them. The picture below taken today shows many people even on top of houses.
