Karua's Impact As Running Mate Seen As Opinion Poll Reveals % Of Women Favouring Raila Vs Ruto

The question of who to deputize Raila Odinga ahead of the August general election came to an end after the former prime minister settled on Martha Karua as his perfect assistant. Karua won the race for the slot against many top candidates including Peter Kenneth, Wickliffe Oparanya, Alli Hassan Joho, Charity Ngilu among others.

The journey to the state house seems to have started afresh after this appointment. An opinion poll by FIFA has released the percentage of womens supporting Raila Odinga and his deputy Karua against those supporting Ruto and Gachagua. According to the results, 35% women participants favour Odinga and Karua to be form the next government.

In Kenya Kwanza, 32% support Ruto and Rigathi Gachagua to lead the country as from August after the end of leadership of President Uhuru. The gap between the support for Raila and Ruto is 3% making this competition so tight. This results might have been caused by Karua in Raila's camp as many ladies wish to be in deputy president position for the first time in Kenyan history. If Raila will win then, Karua will become the first ever female deputy president in the country.
