Amani National Congress party Kakamega gubernatorial candidate Cleophas Malala, has issued statement after the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission postponed the elections in his county and that of Kakamega.
Taking to his social media pages, Malala supported the Commision for the move arguing that there are individuals who are out to intimidate the commission
"This evening, following the press release by the IEBC Chairperson, I am deeply saddened by the murder and systematic harassment meted on IEBC staff by a section of persons who want to grab power through the back door." Read part of his statement.
"This latest turn of events is regrettable and an affront to the direct will of the People that MUST be condemned in the strongest terms possible." He added.
He further stated that they fully support IEBC and expressed readiness to face off with their competitors at anytime IEBC will conduct the elections.
"We are ready to face our competitors on the ballot on the date the commission shall Pronounce and we are confident that Kakamega shall choose brand Cleo Malalah based on our sound Uchumi Bora, Pesa Mfukoni Economic concept." He added.
