Chebukati insisted on Monday, May 6 at the Bomas of Kenya that he could not clear the Safina party presidential flagbearer without a degree certificate.
"Degree certificate is mandatory and due to that, I am rejecting your application to be nominated as a candidate for the presidential election slated for August 9, this year. As the returning officer for presidential elections, that is my decision," Chebukati ruled.
The billionaire businessman had brought academic transcripts, and he is scheduled to graduate in December 2022, according to a letter from Daystar University. Wanjigi is studying International Relations and Security Studies for a Bachelor of Arts degree.
