On Friday 30th September,Meru governor Kawira Mwangaza was amongst the trending topics on social media after she appointed her husband Murega Baichu for two county job offers.She appointed her husband to be in charge of Meru Youth service and Meru county hustler ambassador.She also clarified that he would work without any pay or allowances.
On Saturday morning,she penned a sweet message praisng he husband for the belief she had in her when no politician could stand and campaign for her.Kawira acknowledged that her husband who is a musician enabled her to hold campaign rallies and visit do door to door campaigns around the county.She praised him for working with her during campaigns without any pay and allowances.
On the two appointments that she gave him yesterday,Kawira noted that by accepting her ambassadorial appointment her husband proved to be a selfless gentleman,a pillar of her strength and support system.
The governor expressed that with his appointment the Meru youth service would nature many talents from poor backgrounds.She noted that him having been his chief campaigner would do the Meru people justice with his support.
She also assured the people of Meru that her husband's role would not create any conflict of interest just as when she served as the women representative before.Kawira promised to deliver.
"To the people of Meru, you elected me and I will deliver. There will be no conflict of interest just as when I served you as the woman rep and delivered beyond reasonable doubt. I will deliver as your governor," she said.
