President William Ruto has just merged two government ministries while launching a housing project at Mukuru in Nairobi County this Monday.
The head of state has given this order following his urge to hasten the process of constructing affordable houses for the people of Nairobi.
As he was delivering his speech, President Ruto has narrated that there were difficulties posed by the inability of the ministry of lands and that of housing operating seamlessly hence the move to merge them with immediate effect.
As such, this idea by the President will make sure that there is proper cooperation and coordination of activities between land and housing ministries from today henceforth.
"Nimekubaliana na watu wa wizara ya ardhi ya kwamba tutabadilisha mwendo na sio wizara ya ardhi pekee na wizara zile zote. We've to agree on service delivery time lines so that we're sure when we say we are going to achieve this, we must achieve it in the time we've agreed. To ease the coordination between the ministry of land and housing, I have decided that the ministry of lands will now be together with housing," said President William Ruto.
