United Democratic Alliance(UDA)has ballooned into becoming a household name, ready to take on established parties like ODM with a destructive urge.
With many members joining UDA, Ruto is now confronted with the fresh headache of nominations which are slated for early next year. In his party, a section of members had started condemning the fact that some politicians are yet to be offered direct nominations ahead of the August 9 Elections.
That aside, DP Ruto finally met his staunch supporter, Kelvin Rotich. Rotich travelled from Narok riding on a motorcycle determined to meet the political bigwig. He narrates how he slept on the road before arriving at the UDA offices.
Mr Rotich went through hell just to pass a greeting to the second in command. Upon arriving in UDA offices which are nestled in Makindi Road, Nairobi, Kelvin Rotich made for the gate where he was turned down after he was asked to issue his appointment letter.
He informed the security team manning the main entry that he wasn't aware that an authorisation letter would be required, however, they insisted for him to resume on a succeeding date with an appointment letter.
Since his phone couldn't access social media, he drove to a nearby Cybercafe where he asked his followers to help him secure entry into UDA offices. Fortunately, the online community highlighted his issue and in his subsequent returns, he was beckoned in.
Rotich disclosed that Ruto ordered for him to be given a brand new phone, books and that he'll respond to his plight at a later date. He also mentioned that a visibly happy Ruto bought him a cup of tea which he sipped on while sharing a conversation with his preferred presidential candidate.
