Just recently, the president of the Republic of Kenya announced several measures to curb the spread of novel corona virus third wave.Among the measures spelt out , was the suspension of physical learning in tertiary institutions all over the country.
In as much such a measure was made in good faith ,this has greatly affected students both emotionally and pyschologically. Most of them have not been able to proceed to the next year for so long due to abrupt closure both last year and this year.
Some few private universities easily transitioned to virtual and online learning. This was because they had proper computer laboratories and also the scholars were well equipped with laptops.
Students in public campuses were disadvantaged since many of them were not familiar to such mode of learning .Acquisition of laptops is also costly to them. Most are catching up with the changing trends quite positively.
The government should consider removing the order barring physical learning .Learning can be done easily in shifts since most of the classes are huge hence there will be ease in social distancing Those who were to graduate have had it rough as their hope of finally leaving school was crashed.
