The United Democratic Alliance party candidate William Ruto and Azimio La Umoja One Kenya candidate Raila Odinga are competing for the presidency, according to the most recent provisional results obtained by the Nation Media Group.
As the nation waits for the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission, headed by its chairman Wafula Chebukati, to officially announce the final results, various media outlets in the nation are releasing the provisional results.
Only 13,406,787 of the 22,157,567 voters who were eligible to cast ballots on Tuesday actually did so, exercising their democratic right to choose the leaders they wished to see in power.
According to the National Monitoring Group (NMG), the opposition leader Raila Odinga is still trailing the deputy president Dr. William Ruto with 6,624,238 votes, or 49.41% of the vote, as of the formal announcement of the results.
