President Uhuru Kenyatta and the former Prime Minister Raila Odinga have began the process of crafting a coalition ahead of the 2020 polls. Yesterday, 0n 17th June the allies of the duo met to discuss about an alliance that would be helpful. However the meeting came after Uhuru had allegedly reported that he would back one National Super Alliance candidates (NASA) to succeed him instead of Deputy President William Ruto .
The meeting was attended by Jubilee secretary-general Raphael Tuju, Jubilee vice chairman David Murathe, Deputy Majority Whip Maoka Maore and Orange Democratic Movement secretary-general Edwin Sifuna.
Allies of the duo led closely by Jubilee Vice chairman David Murathe and ODM Secretary General Edwin Sifuna said that they had been given instructions to transform the handshake into a formal political vehicle that would propel them to power.
