ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi might end up joining ODM leader Raila Odinga and his Azimio La Umoja Movement soon, political analyst Fred Sasia says.
Mudavadi is expected to make a big announcement on January 23, a declaration he has said could shake the country and disrupt it's political arrangement.
The commentator says that this announcement might end up being Mudavadi declaring support for Raila's August presidential candidate.
He told The Star that the leader might join the Azimio Movement, especially following Raila's remarks that his former NASA colleagues will ultimately rejoin him.
“We know the ODM leader has said before that he will eventually unite with his former Nasa allies,” he is quoted, adding that the other possibility is Mudavadi leaving the troubled One Kenya Alliance (OKA) and announcing that he will go it alone.
Commentator Daniel Orogo said that there will be nothing unique about Mudavadi's announcement and he will only say what he has been saying.
For him, the leader will only announce that he will be going all the way to the ballot and doesn't plan on supporting anybody else.
“Mudavadi is just going to say he is going all the way to the ballot,” he told the paper.
This comes amid clear divisions within OKA, with the team appearing to be having it hard settling on a candidate, given that all the four co-principals are interested in the top seat.
Should he proceed and vie, Mudavadi will be taking his second shot at the seat after his 2013 one that saw him appear a distant third.
