While having an exclusive interview with TV 47 on Wednesday night, Mandera Governor Ali Roba has lifted the lid on 2022 succession Politics. The second term governor claimed that he is still an ardent supporter and follower of Jubilee Party and is still buying time to see whether the ruling Party will have a presidential candidate. The Mandera County Chief said that he has a lot of respect for the Deputy President William Ruto because he has worked with him for a quite a long time. However, Governor Ali Roba was quick to dissociate himself from UDA Party allied to the Deputy President William Ruto. On working with Raila Odinga, Roba said that he has never worked with him before but that does not mean he can't work with him.
"I have not heard a presidential candidate under Jubilee Party ticket but there is still time. The Deputy President William Ruto is a person I have a lot of respect, I have worked with him for long but my priority is to sit down with other leaders and discuss the way forward. I have never worked with the Former Prime Minister. I respect him, he has done a lot for this country. I haven't said I won't work with Raila Odinga but for now let's wait and see whether Jubilee will have a presidential candidate," revealed governor Ali Roba.
