He was also recently elected to the National Assembly for a second term on the ODM party ticket during the bitterly contested 2022 general elections, representing the Embakasi East Constituency. As he announced the following to Kenyans, Hon Babu Owino gave his party's leader, Hon Raila Amolo Odinga, a surprise early this morning. In a recent post, the outspoken politician expressed his happiness at the 78th birthday of Hon. Raila Amolo Odinga, the former second prime minister of the Republic of Kenya. He expressed gratitude for the way he lived, making each day a reason to rejoice.

"I appreciate the way you make each day worth celebrating by living your life. Cheers, BABA, and happy birthday." Hon. Babu Owino, a member of parliament for Embakasi East, tweeted this.
