"Ikiwa Uhuru Alishindwa, Karua Ataweza Kweli?" Gachagua Takes Swipe At Martha Karua Over Her Ability

United Democratic Alliance UDA party deputy presidential candidate and Mathira MP Rigathi Gachagua has taken a swipe at the nomination of Narc Kenya leader Martha Karua as the running mate of ODM leader Raila Odinga at KICC. During their first Kenya Kwanza Alliance rally after being named as Ruto's running mate at Kajiado on Monday, Rigathi rheotorically said that Karua will not manage to bring Mt Kenya votes to Raila Odinga after President Uhuru Kenyatta failed to do the same.

He said that it is already a done deal for the Mount Kenya region to back Dp William Ruto's presidential bid in August polls. He downplayed the ability of Karua to deliver more of Mount Kenya votes to Raila Odinga.

"This woman who has now been sent by him when she comes here, will you tell her that you already made up your mind? Will you tell her, that if Uhuru who is the sitting president failed to take us there, will she?" Gachagua said

Gachagua's combative character and ability to mobilise the masses to vote on a particular political camp saw him edge out Tharaka Nithi senator, Kithure Kindiki in the race to be Ruto's deputy, which was announced yesterday. Therefore, to counter this influence and force posed by Gachagua, ODM boss is hoping for Karua to win over the hearts of Mountainous to his side for the first time.
