Ruto who was heading for a private visit was forced to wait for more than three hours before he gave up and returned to his Karen residence, even as his accompanies where allowed to travel.
The stalemate has attracted different reactions on social media platforms, with Ruto's critics stating that the DP was supposed to inform the President, and all concerned parties before turning up for his trip.
Speaking on Citizen TV on Tuesday, Kisumu County Woman Representative Rosa Buyu lectured the DP on live TV stating that he had considered himself as Uhuru and Uganda President Yoweri Museveni's equal, which was so unfortunate.
"Ruto's defiance that he can manage to travel to Uganda and be treated as a president is where the problem is. The DP must know his place, and cannot be enjoying the perks of his office when back in the country he does not recognize the president. He is taking it too far," said Buyu.
Her sentiments attracted reactions from Kenyans, here some of them;
@ShockMusyoki: It's the President who doesn't need DPs support, so he should let him do other things peacefully.
@Gacheru73338359: Who decides on Deputy's perk!The president or the constitutional body? Kindly note Ruto is in presidency courtesy of Kenyan votes and should be respected!
@ImelaBlessed: All critics toward DP are null and void.
@heavydu91443892: Rosa Buyu should know coming to a national television to pretend that what the government of the day did to DP was absolutely right is mediocre.
