Nguu Masumba member of county assembly Hon. Harris died on 15th July 2021 after a tragic road accident in Nairobi- Mombasa road. His personal car collided with a truck. The MCA lost his life on the spot with his female friend Hope Mutheu.
The MCA was laid to rest on 26th June at his rural home in the ward. The burial ceremony was attended by various leaders in the region. Leaders who attended the funeral includes Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka, Makueni governor Kivutha Kibwana, Makueni senator Mutula Kilonzo Junior, Makueni DG Adelina Mwau and various elected leaders.
Today Makueni county assembly speaker Douglas Mbilu declared Nguu Masumba ward seat vacant after the death of the MCA on a tragic road accident. This announcement opens window for aspirants to begin their campaigns in the ward.
Wiper party will be keen on defending their seat. Various leaders in the ward will.be competing for Wiper ticket in their bids to occupy the vacant seat. The party is influential in the county having secured majority of the seats.
