Many Kenyans were eargely waiting the speech of president Uhuru Kenyatta to address the current situation of covid-19 in the country. Furthermore most people especially from 13 hotspot counties from western and Nyanza Regions were waiting to see if curfew hours will be uplifted to allow traders to conduct business activities to atleast 9pm.
However, president Kenyatta has confirmed that curfew hours in hotspot counties will remains 7pm to 4am. Below are some of the highlights of the speech of President Kenyatta;
a) Nationwide curfew will be from 10pm to 4am apart from 13 hotspot counties
b)All public gatherings prohibited for 60 days
c) Hospital to allow one visitor for one patient per day
d) Funerals to be conducted within 96 hours after confirmation of death.
This is a major blow to Politicians especially DP Ruto and Raila Odinga who are preparing the ground for 2022 election.
