Wahome Thuku who is a journalist and also a lawyer has detailed 10 key reasons why Orange Democratic Movement leader Raila Odinga is quickly gaining ground in Mount Kenya as Deputy President William Ruto is is losing grip in the vote rich region. According to the recent polls, Raila's popularity is increasing while Ruto's popularity is decreasing.
The declining popularity of Ruto may be connected to his ranting and insults to some Mount Kenya leaders for supporting Raila. Among other reasons for his declining popularity is demonizing leaders from the region.
The journalist listed 10 reasons why Ruto is loosing ground in the region as compared Raila's popularity.
1.Raila never told us he will be the kingpin of Mount Kenya.
2.He did not tell us to join ODM. He knows very well we won't . We have even launched even BUS , we will be in many parties as we wish.
3.He didn't not come to insult our fathers and elders like small children calling them conmen
4.He did not attack anyone, in fact he never mentioned anyone. He didn't attack the one governor who is struggling to get the seat in UDA.
5.Raila is not part of Central
6.He is not in government
7.He has come as a partner
8.He did not come to tell us he will soon be asking permission from him to enter the mountain.
9.He has come as a person with whom we have fought in the past and made peace through handshake.
10.Event the woman who chased him out of her hotel in Karatina is now requesting him to go for a meal in her residence.
