KDF Makes a Huge Step, Acquires New C-145 Aircraft That Will Replace Y-12 Aircrafts; See More

The Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) has always strived to maintain mission readiness and alertness at all times.

To achieve this, adequate equipment with enough weaponry is not an exception. This is why today, the 20th of April 2021, KDF held a short ceremony that marked the entry of C-145 aircraft into the service.

The ceremony was held at Moi Airbase, Eastleigh when the Kenya Airforce Service (KAF) commissioned the newly acquired skystruck C-145 aircraft.

In attendance were the KAF commander Maj. Gen. Francis Ogolla, US Defence Air Attachee to Kenya Maj. Matthew Yan, Moi Airbase commander Peter Githinji, and the US Defence Mobile Training Team (MTT).

Expressing his gratitude, Maj. Gen. Ogolla remarked that the introduced aircraft will greatly improve the capability of the force.

"This aircraft will not be in the service for display but to enhance the capability of our air support to our sister services," said Maj. Ogolla.

The new aircraft has exceptional capabilities of taking short landings, increased crew number, and multifunctional capabilities.
