Hours after submitting a candidate for the Nairobi Senate for confirmation by the Independent Election Commission, the KANU Party issued a statement on the August general election.
At today's press conference, the Secretary-General of the Nairobi branch revealed suspicions of rapid growth in certain areas within the Azimio La umoja base prior to the election. He argued that the only seat that the KANU party would not run for candidates was the presidency they hold for President Raila Odinga, the leader of the Orange Democratic Party. However, the remaining positions are full of candidates.
"As a member of the KANU party, we want to make it clear that there are no classes with other Azimio parties, but we do not listen to the zoo's claims by some politicians within the Azimio team. I just agreed to leave Odinga's lead, but I have candidates in all other areas. "KANU Party Secretary-General of Nairobi County.
This indicates that after the area has been zoned, there will be a fierce war within the Azimio army, which fights against each other at the grassroots. This can backfire on Odinga. Odinga needs to prevent the Reunification Democratic Party from winning these seats. Let's see how things will develop in the near future.
