Raila Wins Big as Hundreds of Sabaot Elders on Sunday Promised to Support His 2022 Presidential Bid

The ODM leader Raila Odinga has once again been boosted in his State House race after a section of Sabaot elders from Bungoma County unanimously promised to support his presidential bid.

The elders who held a closed door meeting with Kakamega Governor and ODM deputy party leader Wycliffe Oparanya on Sunday expressed their confidence that Raila's win in 2022 was certain than before.

They however listed a number of conditions that the former Prime Minister should affirm for them to get their votes through a memorandum of agreement.

" Raila, as you form government in 2022, which is certain, consider us for the positions of CEOs, ambassadors, CSs, Principal Secretaries and so on. As minority, we are sure that ODM will form the next government with Raila being the president," read part of the statement.

Oparanya who shelved his presidential interests revealed that after his meeting with the elders they agreed to support the Azimio La Umoja, which will culminate on Friday December 10 during a mega meeting that will take place at Kasarani, Nairobi.

The elders further endorsed Oparanya as the Western Region coordinator who will ensure that Raila's support is unmatched.
