Constitutional lawyer Ahmednasir Abdullahi has differed with those praising fallen Tanzanian President John Pombe Magufuli. According to the controversial Lawyer, President Magufuli was not a saint as many are now making him to look like.

"Africans tell the truth about their leaders when they are alive. They peddle falsehood and praise when they die. Because they know we will falsify their history and praise them, our leaders destroy our present & future. President Magufuli was a tinpot, two-bit dictator who had no...Regard for human rights & constitutionalism...it is doubtful that he was even of sound mind. Scared of his corpse, TZ lies about the cause of his death and refuse to admit that he died of covid 19. The justice he so badly deserves is the epitaph on his grave..."died of covid 19"

Critics of President Magufuli have accused the former president of cracking down on the opposition and the curtailing the freedom of press.
