While addressing a crowd in Meru where he is the area governor, Kiraitu Murungi revealed that Meru is an Azimio zone and that Raila Odinga and Martha Karua will carry the day in 2022. This coming just days after Ruto and Kithure Kindiki toured the region to popularize the UDA and Kenya Kwanza team.

According to Kiraitu Murungi, the Meru Community cannot be coarse to vote for an individual who has been in government but kept fighting his boss in order to ascend to power in the coming election. He said that tulhis was unacceptable in the current political space.
He urged the locals not to relent in campaigning for Raila Odinga since he is the best choice the region can have in the coming polls. So far Kiraitu had vowed to support the Raila Odinga presidency saying that itvis the best for the nation moving forward.
