William Ruto Losing? What Uhuru's Labour Day Speech Means For Both Ruto and Raila

In his labour day speech, the president had a couple of adjustments on the lockdown and curfew times. However there are some aspects that remained the same. Political gatherings remain suspended till further notice. This has been implemented for a while, with politicians only left with the option of roundtable meetings. We have seen our politicians hold meetings at their homes and offices too.

Where does this leave our politicians especially his Excellency William Ruto and the former prime minister Honorable Raila Amollo Odinga? In my opinion, William has been cornered because this public gatherings have been in his favor. The hustler narrative had picked up so well with him hitting the ground on a daily basis with his choppers and his men and women. It is a narrative most Kenyans were relating to. With the social distance rules and public gatherings suspension, he must be feeling the disconnection with his fellow hustlers. Who is an hustler by the way?

This has affected the former pm too, but not as much as the deputy president. Why? This is basically because Raila Odinga has not been hitting the ground more intensely as compared to his counterpart William Ruto.

What option is left for William Ruto? He would as well take advantage of the now open churches. It has been one of his favorite platforms. The congregation has a reason to smile again.
