Deputy President William Ruto on Friday splashed money to buy a crate of boiled eggs from a hawker who was passing by when he was in Kakamega County
The second in command took his bottom-up economic approach and 2022 politics to Kakamega where he held several rallies, including making stopovers in major towns to engage voters.
In one of the stopovers he made, a boiled eggs vendor was among the audience and the DP decided to end his day with a good business killing.
DP Ruto promoted the vendor by buying one crate of eggs and paying him Sh10,000. He was heard saying he is a chicken businessman while buying the crate of eggs.
He handed the eggs to his car's occupants.
"Hayaa, huyu jamaa was mayai delete nitawanunulia mayai. Shika hii elfu kumi," DP Ruto said as he gave the money, which loosely translates to (Let that egg vendor bring the eggs here, I am buying you eggs, take this Sh10,000).
