Kenyans have thronged their respective polling stations today ready to cast in their votes and select their preferred new leaders. Majority of voters were up and at the polling station as early as 3 am.
The voting exercised is ongoing in majority of the polling station with only a few yet to start the process due to delay in voting materials. The exercise officially began at 5am on Tuesday, 9th August 2022.
Deputy President William Ruto is among the four presidential candidates seeking to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta. Ruto was the first presidential candidate to cast in his vote.
He voted at Sugoi alongside his wife Mama Rachel Ruto. The deputy President stated that he has faith that he will win this elections despite being his first trial for the seat. Ruto said that its upon the citizens to choose their leaders wisely.
