President Uhuru Kenyatta who is serving his second and last term in office is finding himself in dilemma as to whom he will support in the upcoming 2022 general elections. The elections will be held on 9th August 2022 in all the six elective seats available.
After the March contested and controversial elections of 2019, the world was shocked to the news of the new friendship in town between Raila Odinga and president Uhuru Kenyatta through the famous March 18th 2018 handshake. The two senior most political leaders has since then worked closely and the president on one occassion declared that he will support one of the NASA principals where Raila was the head.
2. William Ruto
The deputy president William Ruto and president Uhuru Kenyatta for two occassions have worked jointly in delivering their victory and the president declared that he shall support him at the end of his tenure, things have changed, the two read from different pages and we cannot tell what will happen.
The president may be feeling indebted to the Moi family for the late former president Daniel Arap Moi supported president Uhuru Kenyatta in 2022 and maybe it is time for payback.
The ANC boss in 2013 was promised support by Uhuru and Ruto only for them to change their minds and decided to be in the ballot, it maybe better to fulfil the pledge.
