Governor Kawira Now Calls For A Consultative Meeting With MCA's Amidst Her Impeachment Motion

She's been termed as an iron lady, from her speeches she appeared never to be pushed around by the political waves in her county that was directed in pushing her in a direction that she wasn't comfortable to assume.

Defeating UDA's candidate now Agricultural Cabinet secretary Mithika Linturi and former Governor Kiraitu Murungi, governor Kawira Mwangaza was deemed to be one of the governors that would have a smooth ride in her tenure especially after agreeing to work with the Kenya Kwanza government.

Barely two months after she was sworn in, members of the county assembly are now reading from a different script from their governor.

Accusations of abuse of office, belittling the constitution, nepotism to high handedness have been leveled against her.

She is accused of hiring her close relatives - including guitar-strumming husband Murega Baichu, sister and in-laws,- a matter that has dragged in the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission.This has prompted the members of the county assembly to launch an impeachment motion on the governor who inturn initially welcomed the move claiming that she won't be subjected to fear and intimidations.

That she's ready to face the senate and if she fails she's ready to embrace the courts in defending her rightfully elected position as its clear in her mind that whatever she's done from the day she assumed office is in compliance with the constitution.

Now there is a change of tunes, Governor Kawira has drafted an invitation letter sent to all members and of the county assembly in a bid to salvage the situation.

By yesterday evening members of the county assembly had not yet given a response whether they'll honour the invitation or they'll continue to push up their calls for her impeachment.
