Most of the first time governor seeking for the second term will find it hard to retain their seat as the succession politics will be designed by economic model rather than political parties.
Vihiga county,once presumed to be an ODM stronghold in the last election will witness new faces opposing the current governor, Wilberforce Ottichlo in retaining the seat.
Ottichlo defeated Moses Akaranga who had served as the governor for the first time , though his leadership was characterized with corruption,undevelopment and favoritism in tender allocation at the county jobs.
According to the Daily Nation,the current ODM diehard governor, Ottichlo will have to face competition from the former county staff Mr. Francis Ominde .
Ominde who was county secretary but dismissed in 2018 once opposed the implementation of budget amounting tosh.5.8 billion .
Going by the former statics,the Vihiga county is likely to have a new county boss who is ready to challenge the current governor on an ODM party.
