2022 politics is gaining momentum with Kisii County Politicians on the run to succeed the outgoing ODM Governor James Ongwae who has served for 10 years.
At a meeting held in Nairobi, a section of Abagetutu professionals and business persons met to ponder who they will support next year. They unanimously settled and endorsed Manson Oyongo to take over the mantle.
Under the coordination of Daniel Bogonko, the team conditioned Oyongo to pick a running mate from the area and be clear on how he will share part of his Government with the clan. Oyongo hails from Bogirango. Abagetutu have been in power since 2013.
Daniel Bogonko said after keen interrogation, they are convinced Oyongo is the best fit. He said the clan will determine the 2022 votes for they have numbers.
Oyongo contested in 2013 under the Kenya National Congress party and landed position three. Chris Obure of Jubilee party took position two and the Current Governor James Ongwae of ODM Party won the contest.
The position has attracted several Candidates including Kisii Deputy Governor Joash Maangi, Kisii senator Sam Ongeri, Kisii Women Rep Janet Ong'era, Chris Obure, Dagoretti MP Simba Arati, UDA National Treasurer Omingo Magara, Nyaribari Masaba MP Ezekiel Machogu, Charles Chweya Matoke, and others yet to declare their candidature.
