Lawyers of MP elect Didmus Barasa who is currently wanted by the police after allegedly shooting Brian Olunga, the body guard of his opponent Brian Khaemba have spoken for the first time as he continues to hide.
According to a report by Citizen Digital, the lawyers filed an application for bail pending his arrest.
They already wrote a letter to ODPP, DCI and Inspector general of police regarding the development.
The top lawyer John Khaminwa had earlier complained that Didmus has been labelled as a killer even without investigations first taking place thus prejudicing his right to receive fair trial in a court of law.
The legislator is suspected to have fled to one of our neighbouring countries as a manhunt for him by the DCI continues.
From yesterday, he has been making posts on his social media regarding the general elections. His latest post was four hours ago when he made a post alleging that UDA leader DP Ruto has won the presidential elections.
The DCI has however been unable to track where he could be hiding. In their latest post, DCI urged members of the public who could have any information about his whereabouts to contact them and also warned of dire consequences for anyone who might be harbouring him.
