Former Mt Kenya MP Alleges Ruto's Kenya Kwanza Plans to Go For Kuria Over GMO Maize Importation

The former Nyeri Town Member of Parliament Ngunjiri Wambugu has vehemently defended Cabinet Secretary for Trade Moses Kuria following the wielding debate of Genetically Modified Organisms (GMO) maize and non-GMO maize importation.

Taking it on Facebook, the former Nyeri Town legislator claimed unearthed plots by President William Ruto's led Kenya Kwanza Alliance to de-whip Moses Kuria from the position of Cabinet Secretary for Trade on accusations of ceding duty free to allow the importation of 10 million bags or GMO maize that already docked Mombasa port.

According to Ngunjiri, the order to import GMO maize among other food crops was channeled from the head of state William Ruto who allegedly chaired cabinet meeting that sanctioned the importation of GMO maize into country to combat the hiking hunger situation as a result of shrunk economy.

He claimed that the decision by the Kenya Kwanza MPs to collect signatures in attempt to initiate impeachment process against Moses Kuria is a well-calculated move by president William Ruto to strip off Kuria from his roles as CS for Trade.

"Watu waachane na CS Moses Kuria. No way Mutha made the decision to import maize by himself. It must have been discussed by Cabinet. Cabinet was chaired by the President & all CSs were present. ‘Our People’ must not be targeted" said Ngunjiri Wambugu
