Raila Odinga is out to replace President Kenyatta in the coming presidential election. He has scaled up his efforts to popularise his Azimio La Umoja initiative.Today,Odinga received some heroic welcome in Nyeri county where both Luo and Kikuyu elders converged to show their support for Odinga ahead of Saturday's tour in the region.
President Kenyatta has signaled supporting Odinga for the top seat. This has seen the ODM party leader traverse the country to convince the electorates that he is their best 2022 presidential candidate.A few days ago,Odinga also received a heroic welcome in West Pokot county where he was hosted by Governor John Lonyangapuo.During his visit,he was endorsed by area leaders among them majority leader Samwel Phogisio,Pokot South MP David Pkosing and Tiaty MP Asman Kamama.
Raila's endorsement by the area leaders has now received a setback as elders have now rejected it saying that they were not consulted. As reported by Standard Digital, some of these elders being led by the chairperson John Muok are accusing Lonyangapuo and Pkosing for hiding behind Raila's endorsement to run away from corruption allegations that they are facing. Will this deter Raila's wave that has picked up well in the region?
