Kenyans Praises Former Rift Valley Commissioner Natembeya For Walking Away From Uhuru's Appointment

On Wednesday, January 12, Natembeya announced his resignation in order to concentrate his efforts in the Trans Nzoia county gubernatorial contest.

Natembeya was replaced by Makueni County Commissioner, Mohamed Ahmed Maalim.

He noted that he enjoys the support of President Kenyatta, Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang'i, and his PS Karanja Kibicho.

At the same day during his resignation, Natembeya was moved to the Office of the President.

However, Natembeya walks away from the appointment in Uhuru's office.

" I have resigned from government and I'm not taking the new position at the President's office. I have enough leave days to serve notice," Natembeya said.

A section of Kenyans have applauded the former Regional Commissioner.

"Natembeya: you have won Governorship already ....that is very brilliant of you......."

"Mr. RC , if I was you, I would take the new appointment, you never know what the future holds, but regrets. The Political ambition you have, is very unpredictable. You should start with MP."

"It's sad how people do not understand. By accepting the offer, he'd still be a public servant and he'd not have achieved what he wanted. But also, it would only be a way to ensure that you think he's not there when he really is still on that payroll."

"There are other people who don't have job wonder why somebody resign and be give another job with the same government and he has tender in his resignation."

"Natembeya congrats.... you're one of your kind. Let Uhuru give that job to other jobless kenyans!"
