Kajiado County Gubernatorial Race: The race is likely going to be tough among these three candidates

Kajiado county is one of the counties found in the Rift valley region of Kenya and majority of the residents are pastoralists. Politically, Kajiado county is a stronghold of Jubilee party and currently the Deputy President William Ruto has been working hard to penetrate into the county with his United Democratic Alliance party.

As we approach the eagerly awaited 2022 general elections, the race to dethrone the incumbent Kajiado county governor Joseph Ole Lenku has been gaining momentum. The race has attracted the likes of the former governor David Nkedianye, Josiah Kores, Peris Tobiko, Katoo Ole Metito, incumbent governor Joseph Ole Lenku and former NTSA Director Francis Meja.

From the current political activities and alignments in Kajiado county, the race to clinch to the top seat in the county is likely going to be tough among the incumbent governor Joseph Ole Lenku, former governor David Nkedianye and Kajiado South Member of Parliament Katoo Ole Metito.

Former governor David Nkedianye has been making inroads in the county to popularize his gubernatorial bid and he will be riding on his projects to rally support from the voters. In addition to that, David Nkedianye has been actively involved in several political activities in the county and he will not be new to the people of Kajiado county.

On the other hand, Kajiado South Member of Parliament Katoo Ole Metito has been in politics for long and his experience should not be ignored. Metito is one of the longest serving MPs in the country and he is well known for his impressive development records in Kajiado South Constituency.

Lastly, the incumbent governor Joseph Ole Lenku has the potential of retaining the seat because of his impressive development records. In addition to that, Ole Lenku has the opportunity of using the county resources to initiate new projects and complete the stalled projects in the county to convince more people to vote for him. May the best candidate win the race.
