Nominated senator Hon. Karen Nyamu has been making headlines recently in social media platforms. Although she is well known by many people, most of those who know her don't know her profession. Nyamu is a well decorated barrister who is actively in practice. She is a good lawyer and an advocate of the high Court. She is also a politician and the former Nairobi senatorial aspirant.
She hit the ground running shortly before the last year elections but after negotiating within the United Democratic Alliance party ranks, she stepped down for Hon. Margaret Wanjiru who ran on the ticket. She was later nominated to the senate where she is serving for first time. 
Nyamu has also been an open minded politician who is also young and an inspiration to many young people who may want to join politics. She made headlines recently after the senate speaker was forced to throw her out on the basis of what was referred to as improper dress code. She was wearing a kitenge skirt an a short sleeved blouse but she later clarified that she was in Mombasa before she flew to attend the senate proceedings.
