The UDA allies from William Ruto's home county have stated that they do not view Alice Wahome's job as the Water CS, dealing a blow to Alice Wahome's position as William Ruto's cabinet secretary.
The water CS is supposedly being played by vice president Rigathi Gachagua. She was discussing issues relating to irrigation with DP, according to Betty Maina, the representative for Muranga Women.
Prior to the recently ended Kandara by-election, CS Wahome was criticized by Kenya Kwanza leaders in Murang'a for not endorsing a UDA candidate.
Speaking at Yakarengo Primary School in Mathioya Constituency where she oversaw the distribution of emergency food, Maina insisted that food security necessitates the Ministry of Water to expand irrigation farming. "But I will not, cannot talk to the current CS," she added.
Maina said Murang’a’s drinking and irrigation water needs are best left to Mr Gachagua to deal with.
She explained that her differences with Wahome arose from the January 5 Kandara by-election.
Their war has now moved onto social media where their supporters have been trading barbs.
