A Senior Government Official Speaks on a Probable Handshake Between Ruto and Raila

With the anti-government demonstrations by Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Coalition under suspension, Kenyans are anxiously waiting the outcome of the bipartisan talks and engagements between the opposition and the Kenya Kwanza government. Azimio was to resume the protests but suspended the same to give dialogue a chance with hope that an amicable solution would be reached.

But was is conspicuosly clear is that some key political players from the Kenya Kwanza side are seeing the move to engage the opposite camp as a ploy by the opposition to tactically meander their way into the government, something that Azimio has vehemently downplayed and confirmed as not the true stand of the Coalition.

Wading into the same matter while in Nakuru County on Saturday, Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has once again reminded Raila that he should forget any handshake with President William Samoei Ruto and Kenya Kwańza government.

Gachagua has instead advised the former Prime Minister to voluntarily retire from politics and exit the political arena. He has been among the vocal leaders within the Kenya Kwanza quarters that have been vehemently against any talks with the opposition.
