"Don't Disrespect Our Women" Raila Leaves Crowd Cheering After Ordering Kahiga to Respect Women

The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party leader Raila Odinga left crowds cheering in Nyeri County after blasting the Nyeri Governor Mutahi Kahiga for disturbing his deputy Caroline Karugu, and ordered him to respect women.

Speaking during burial ceremony in Nyeri county on Friday, January 28, Raila noticed that the Nyeri governor was victimizing his deputy governor.

"If you have a woman as a deputy, respect her and give her her rights. You cannot have a deputy governor who is working yet you are not paying her to an extent that she has to go to court," the former Prime Minister stated

"I wanted to say this when the governor was here but we agreed but he has now asked for forgiveness," revealed Raila as the crowd cheered.

"But that should not be an excuse. Do not disrespect our women. They are equal citizens of our nation and have the ability to perform like men," added Raila.

The statements from Raila comes after there have been reports that the Nyeri governor was allegedly refusing to pay his deputy governor to an extent that she had to go to court and sued the governor.
