The 2022 presidential race has caused political turbulence in the country. The supremacy battle that has intensified has left many Kenyans in a total dilemma. Hon. Raila Odinga and DP William Ruto have always made moves to seek the support of the Mount Kenya people. The big question that many Kenyans have failed to answer and are still seeking answers is that, are the Mount Kenya people the determinants of the presidential elections?
The mount Kenya leaders have recently made demands to back William Ruto. They believe they have high states in the 2022 polls. Sixty leaders from the region have formed two committees to steer the negotiations around the economy and the 2022 positions. Rigathi Gachagua is one of the leaders steering for these demands.
However, Raila ally has made some claims of how these demands by Mount Kenya leaders may meet sharp resistance from Ruto's inner circle allies. In his remarks he said, "Some demands will be met with sharp resistance from members of William Ruto's inner circle. This is the beginning of the end of the relationship between Ruto and Mount. Kenya MPs. Kikuyus are expensive; You can rent them but you can't afford to buy them."
He added, that "Raila Odinga might be forced by circumstances to back another leader for the Presidency. You wonder why he still hasn't posted about meeting Muhoho and Moi yet he is busy receiving and posting goats! He must have figured that President Uhuru Kenyatta is using Cruise Control on him."
