Opposition leader Raila Odinga is looking foward to win presidency in 2022 and defeat deputy president William Ruto. Odinga is keen to form am alliance that will eventually lead him to statehouse come 2022 and that includes winning the support of central Kenya.
As well the deputy president William Ruto is looking forward to win the support of central Kenya for his presidential statehouse ambitions. As obvious central Kenya might demand a position of the deputy president to support any of the two leaders or any other leader.
This could inform why Raila Odinga who is working closely with president Uhuru Kenyatta might look for a running mate from central Kenya in 2022. He would want to chose a person from the region so to win the support of the region come 2022.
It's clear that Uhuru Kenyatta has vowed to be the negotiator for the region stakes in the next government. William Ruto on the contrary has vowed to look for the support of the region without going through anyone. It's this reasons that could inform why Raila Odinga could choose a running mate from the region so that he can win their support which is massive.
Time however will tell owing political formations will be formed ahead of 2022 to spearhead for different candidates presidential ambitions. It's clear however that Raila Odinga wants to heavily win the support of the region by every means possible a reason we might see the region demand the second position at the table.
