The Orange Democratic Movement party has gotten a reprieve hours after winning the Bonchari parliamentary by-elections. The party has this afternoon secured the release of its youths who were arrested yesterday.
According to the updates by the party, The Magistrate court in Kisii has issued unconditional release of the 13 youths. They are however, expected to be reporting to the Kisii DCI office once a week for a month.
"The Magistrate’s court in Kisii has issued an unconditional release of the 13 ODM youths including an MCA arrested yesterday in Bomachoge during the by-election. Kisii Magistrate Steve Onchoro however directed that the 13 to report to the Kisii DCI office once a week for a month." The party posted on its social media pages (Facebook and Twitter)
ODM had time yesterday as its supporters got threatened and intimidated by the police officers, despite this, the party emerged victorious in the tight competition that saw its candidate Pavel Oimeke win narrowly.
