A section of Mt. Kenya leaders met in order to forge the way forward for the region ahead of the 2022 general elections. Moses Kuria said during the Press conference that he is a member of the TangaTanga brigade and he is there to stay.
The other leaders confronted him about his remarks but he did not give them any answer. He however stormed out of the meeting. This showed that the Mountain is not United and it may be very tough for the leaders to bring the people together. The Mount Kenya votes will therefore be split and they may not vote as a block again the way they did in the last general election.
The Star Newspaper reported that Thuo Mathenge who is the New Democrats Party also added that Moses Kuria angered him when he tried to turn the meeting into a TangaTanga affair. Martha Karua however said that their main agenda was to unite the region and not cling on political affiliations.
It is now not very clear whether Moses Kuria will still be part of the team seeking to unite the larger Central region. According to him, he will remain a TangaTanga follower but he will be part of the Mount Kenya unity team.
