The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commissioner IEBC is busy clearing different aspirants for different post in the coming general election. The candidates for other seats except for the presidency have until Thursday 9 June before the exercise comes to an end.
Some aspirants have been disqualified from the race due to some reasons set by IEBC. Some have been disqualified after their running mates failed either to resign from public office by 9 February this year or lack of required academic credentials.
This evening we have received news that Kiminini member of Parliament has nominated another running mate. According to the source, Chris Wamalwa has dropped his running mate Mwalimu Bethwel Korir and settled on Joyce Cheruto after learning that he didn't resign within the legal deadline of February 9 2022.
Chris Wamalwa is running for Trans Nzoia gubernatorial race under Ford Kenya party and has been cleared by the IEBC.
He will now battle the seat with former Rift valley commander George Natembeya of DAP-K. Please share this article with others and please follow me for more updates.
